With the new WiConnect System 2, Velodyne Acoustics presents a compact and sophisticated solution for the wireless operation of subwoofers and loudspeakers. The system puts an end to many annoying cable runs and opens up new possibilities for setting up home theater, surround and stereo systems with subwoofer support.
Stable transmission of the highest quality
The signal is transmitted in the 5.8 GHz band and, at 48 kHz / 24 bit, offers a sound quality that is even higher than that of a classic audio CD. In addition, the entire audible frequency range of 20 Hz — 20 kHz is transmitted using stereo RCA. The WiConnect System 2 would therefore also be perfect for implementing two wirelessly connected rear speakers in the home cinema. In contrast to many Bluetooth or WLAN solutions, the WiConnect System 2 works without delay and without audible compression, making it ideal for music, films and even gaming, where every millisecond counts.
More flexibility thanks to long range
With a range of around 30 meters, the system is also suitable for larger rooms or flexible setups. One transmitter can address up to four receivers simultaneously, so that several subwoofers or speakers can be integrated into a setup in parallel. The WiConnect System 2 itself is also unobtrusive and easy to place thanks to its compact dimensions of 90 × 32 × 90 mm (W × H × D).
Compact and versatile
A particularly practical feature is the power supply (5V, 1A) for the transmitter and receiver: both are supplied with power via a USB cable. As current subwoofers from Velodyne Acoustics and many modern AV receivers already have USB-A ports, a separate power supply unit is not necessary in many cases. This ensures a particularly uncomplicated and tidy installation. Whether in classic stereo mode or for integration into the home cinema with LFE signal: the WiConnect System 2 offers maximum freedom in the placement of subwoofers and loudspeakers and thus enables optimum reproduction in any living environment.
