Velodyne Acoustics presents the latest version of its ultra-compact MicroVee series with the MKII. The MicroVee MKII combines patented core technologies from the US subwoofer experts at Velodyne Acoustics, such as the Digital Drive Control System and the Energy Recovery System, in the smallest space, thus enabling impressive bass reproduction with minimal space requirements.
The new MicroVee MKII from Velodyne Acoustics was developed to deliver the best music and home theater experience from the smallest possible enclosure. Due to its compact dimensions, it can be discreetly accommodated in practically any living environment while still impressing with amazing bass performance.
Digital Drive Control System: Intelligent Bass Reproduction
With an improved algorithm for Velodyne Acoustics’ exclusive distortion-limiting Digital Drive Control System, the MicroVee II develops tighter and more precise bass reproduction. DDCS is an active, DSP-based system that ensures linear diaphragm movement and provides distortion-free reproduction. DDCS reduces distortion to 1/6 of the values of comparable subwoofers.
Efficiency and Power: 2,000 Watts of Performance
Velodyne Acoustics relies on its patented ERS (Energy Recovery System) technology for the MicroVee MKII. With 2,000 watts, the Class-D digital amplifier offers extreme performance values with very low distortion and more detailed bass performance across the entire frequency range. The additionally optimized power supply ensures more stability with extended dynamics and precisely defined bass in the lower reproduction frequencies. An active 6.5-inch driver (16.5 cm) in combination with two equally sized, side-mounted passive radiators delivers the powerful, musical bass for which Velodyne is world-renowned.
Patented Velodyne Acoustics Technologies Combined in the Smallest Space
Like all Velodyne Acoustics subwoofers, the MicroVee MKII also features an anti-clipping circuit to prevent overload. Velodyne Acoustics’ exclusive “Subwoofer Direct” function optionally bypasses the internal crossover to ensure optimal performance in any music or home theater system.
General Information, Price, and Availability
The Velodyne Acoustics MicroVee MKII is now available from authorized dealers at a suggested retail price of 1,100.00 Euros (including VAT) in black and white colors.
The Velodyne Acoustics Company
Masters of Low Frequencies: For over 40 years, Velodyne Acoustics has been driving the development of the subwoofer concept with innovative technologies. As early as 1983, Velodyne founder David Hall turned the market upside down with a patent that allowed for louder, deeper, and less distorted reproduction. Further innovations followed, including the world’s first DSP-controlled subwoofer in 2003. Today, Velodyne Acoustics delights hi-fi and home theater enthusiasts with flexible systems that can be adapted to any setup while being extremely user-friendly and easy to operate. The Digital Drive Plus series is considered by connoisseurs as the benchmark for what today’s subwoofers can achieve. No other manufacturer holds as many patents in subwoofer construction – and each of these patents is entirely in service of perfect bass reproduction.
