Velodyne Acoustics, the specialist for controlled bass reproduction for more than forty years, presents the DB-15, the flagship of its new Deep Blue series. For its first new release in 2021, the well-known manufacturer of high-end subwoofers has thus chosen attractive, high-quality entry-level models. Equipped with a newly developed high-performance chassis and effective control electronics with up to 1000 watts of pulse power, the new bass speaker – despite its compact format – satisfies even the highest demands for depth, impulse fidelity, and low distortion. With flexible connection options, the elegant device is suitable for home theater and hi-fi applications of all kinds.
Compact, Beautifully Designed, and Powerful
As the flagship of the compact Deep Blue series, the DB-15 delivers all the famous advantages of Velodyne Acoustics subwoofers in an amazingly living room-friendly format. The frequency response of the newly developed, forward-firing 15-inch chassis extends down to an impressive 23 Hz at +/-3 dB tolerance, ensuring impressive home theater experiences. The multiply braced closed enclosure made of solid MDF material ensures unshakable stability without any vibrations. With adjustable level, crossover frequency, and phase, the Deep Blue DB-15 can also be flexibly adapted to any system and listening room.
Newly Developed 15-Inch Driver for Impressive Sound Fidelity
The DB-15 from Velodyne Acoustics uses a 15-inch driver chassis that was specially developed for the Deep Blue series with decades of experience from Velodyne Acoustics. The cone is made of particularly rigid reinforced PP material, which effectively prevents partial oscillations and distortions even at extreme excursions. The quadruple voice coil, together with the double ferrite magnet, ensures high efficiency, fastest rise times, and impulse fidelity.
Precisely Adjustable Thanks to Sophisticated Electronics
With a strong 450 watts continuous and 1000 watts pulse power, the amplifier electronics of the Deep Blue DB-15 from Velodyne Acoustics are well-equipped even for demanding tasks such as bass-heavy action movies in large home theaters. The Deep Blue DB-15 offers flexible options for connecting with the outside world. With the integrated, high-precision crossover used in the bass behemoth and a dedicated socket for LFE signals from surround sources, there are no limits to the DB-15’s use: be it as a subwoofer for satellite systems, as LFE in sophisticated immersive home theater environments, or as a playing partner for the high-end hi-fi system.

The Velodyne Acoustics Company
Master of low tones: For over 40 years, Velodyne Acoustics has been driving the development of the subwoofer concept with innovative technologies. As early as 1983, Velodyne founder David Hall turned the market upside down with a patent that enabled louder, deeper, and less distorted reproduction. Further innovations followed, including the world’s first DSP-controlled subwoofer in 2003. Today, Velodyne Acoustics delights hi-fi and home theater sound enthusiasts with flexible systems that can be adapted to any setup, while being extremely user-friendly and easy to operate. The Digital Drive Plus series is considered by experts to be the benchmark for what today’s subwoofers can achieve. No other manufacturer holds as many patents in subwoofer construction – and each of these patents is entirely in the service of perfect bass reproduction.
